The Thunderbirds

Created by Alison one month ago

l worked with Lesley at the Crossley Heath School and one day was invited to go to the Lowry Gallery with her and Ceri. It was the start of many fine days out and the occasional holiday. My partner said one time as we were arranging a trip. "Thunderbird are go" and from that time the name stuck. We became The Thunderbirds. Lesley was Lady Penelope and I was Brains. I think Ceri was Virgil but sometimes she was Parker.

We loved our trips and I am so sad they will be no more. Three is a crowd they sometimes say but it wasn't like that for us. We just got on. We bonded over food, nature, art and mainly cake.

I can't believe The Thunderbirds are grounded now. Ceri and I will hopefully carry on till our dotage but it won't be the same. Rest in peace lovely girl. I ' m glad your ashes are to be scattered at sea. Go with the wind to the four corners of the earth and watch over us . We will be thinking of you. Aw
